DARKSIDE Complete Basic Tracks For New Album
October 27, 2004Wolf, vocalist of the long-running Austrian death metal band DARKSIDE, has issued the following update on the group's current activities:
"We have finished our first studio period for 'Amber - Skeletal Journeys Through the Void' a few days ago and all I can say is that it sounds very promising. We have recorded most of the basic things by now and look forward to finish everything in late January. We have booked the X-Line Studio in Bratislava for additional 10 days from January 24, 2005 on. In the meantime we will work on arrangements and putting the finishing touches to the album. Whereas 'Cognitive Dissonance' had a very cold, sometimes even deadly feeling through its technical sound and way of composing the tunes, this time it seems that the album will have a gloomier, more emotive vibe, mainly because everybody in the band has been contributing to the songwriting process and because we try to get as much 'live feeling' as possible on the album. Despite the fact, that we will have the fastest tracks DARKSIDE ever recorded I think, there is this kind of a real band feeling back in DARKSIDE which we did not have in the times we recorded our last album. I am very happy with the new material and the band is developing a great direction.
"Other DARKSIDE-related news: CITIZEN X, a project involving some members of DARKSIDE, has recorded an album called 'Satanation'. We will make two songs of that album available for free download on our website on November 1, 2004. As the lyrical content is very much related to the world´s situation after 9-11, we think it is a good date to release it one day before the elections in the US. Check for the update on November 1, 2004 on www.d-a-r-k-s-i-d-e.com.
"H8, a project maintained by Peter Böhm, bass player in DARKSIDE, has been signed for two albums by Italian label Pulsarlight. The album entitled 'Dressed With Scars' will be released early next year. For more information check the label's website www.pulsarlight.net."
